So I became an IMSian….…..……

I have been thoroughly motivated and got inspired by Dr. Meeta, Dr. Duru Shah and Dr. Suneela, so much so that I involved myself deeply into IMS.

My beloved grandmother suffered with fracture at an early age of 50 and succumbed to it.  It has left an indelible impression on my mind,

This made me to think of problems of elderly women.

 MY VISION

To inculcate the awareness of menopause and its preventive measures at an early age.

Right from college days, {medical, paramedical, nursing} youngsters should be taught that the seed of menopausal consequences are sown far, far, earlier than the actual age of menopause. This way they can advise women regarding preventive measures at an early age and make possible a good quality of life at menopause.

“MENOPAUSE” is a topic meritorious enough to be included in the undergraduate syllabus of medical and nursing colleges.

 MY JOURNEY INTO IMS

Started at a young age by attending to elderly women at Old Age Home “NIRMAL BHAVAN” near my place. On every special occasion in my household, we visit and serve them. From being a primary member of IMS, today I have become the President of IMS with an enhanced drive to care for them. Even now, I visit it along with my children and grandchildren.

 MY DREAM FOR IMS

-A society without politics

-Inclusion of the topic of menopause into the curriculum of under graduate medical, nursing and physiotherapy colleges.

-To persuade the concerned governmental departments to promote the topic of menopause as a super specialty course.

-To carry comprehensive elderly care to the grass root level to needy women all over the country
