Rod Baber - IMS President

Rod Baber, President–Elect, visits Prague

Rod Baber, President–Elect, visited Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, which is the venue for the 15th IMS World Congress on the Menopause from Wednesday 28th September – Saturday October 1st, 2016.

The Czech Republic is situated in central Europe, bordered by Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Austria. Prague is a city of 1.2 million people with the Vltava River flowing through it. The historical centre of the city has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1992 and is dominated by Prague Castle.
Prague is a significant traffic junction, well connected by major and budget airlines; 53 airlines fly to 130 destinations in 52 countries.
Being quite compact, Prague is an excellent Conference venue.
The Prague Convention Centre is situated just outside the Town centre. It is a large modern facility with an impressive record of hosting major medical and other congresses (including a NATO meeting). The mix of large and small meeting rooms, audiovisual and catering facilities will ensure the IMS Congress is, as usual, an outstanding scientific and social event. The Convention centre is connected to the city by a metro line with a train station adjacent to it. Also linked to the convention centre are two large hotels with over 650 rooms.
Prague has many hotels within the city as well and there are a wide range of choices and prices available. Delegates to the IMS congress will also be provided with a free public transport card for use during the congress as an added incentive.
It is a wonderful city to visit, full of history and culture and with ready access to other travel opportunities in The Czech Republic and neighbouring countries.
Professor Josef Donat and his colleagues in The Czech Menopause and Andropause Society will be joining IMS in the organization of the 15th IMS World Congress in September 2016 and we can assure you of the very best in science, culture, entertainment and hospitality.
